Clairvoyance means 'clear seeing' and if you are thinking about visiting a clairvoyant it is important that you do some background research to find a genuine clairvoyant who will be able to provide you with a clear, accurate reading and not a murky attempt at a reading based on guesswork alone. Here are some important things to think about before you rush to get a reading from the first clairvoyant you come across:

How to find a clairvoyant
As with most service providers these days, many clairvoyants now have their own web presence. In addition you may find contact details here at classifieds. You should be able to find a few different clairvoyants in your area to shortlist and then contact to find out more details about their powers and the types of readings they provide. Also, ask around your friends and colleagues to see if they have used a clairvoyant recently and whether or not they thought that the reading was correct and worthwhile. However, do remember that everyone has their own individual aura and what worked for your friend or colleague might not necessarily work for you, but a personal recommendation is a great place to start.

Things to think about when choosing a clairvoyant
  • If you are looking for an online reading from a clairvoyant then you should make sure that they are a genuine clairvoyant and not just someone posing as a clairvoyant. The British Clairvoyant Academy (BCA) was established to promote a Code of Conduct and Ethics for the safe practice of clairvoyance, mediumship and psychism on the internet. So, it is well worthwhile checking that the clairvoyant you are considering is a member of the BCA.
  • If you are planning to choose a clairvoyant on the web then make sure that they have a professional website and that their contact details, address and registered company name are provided.
  • Check that the clairvoyant can offer you the exact service that you are looking for. Check which types of readings and physic arts they offer as not all clairvoyants offer all types of readings. For example, some may offer only card readings but not palm readings.
  • If you do want a specific type of reading you should try to find a clairvoyant that specialises in that particular medium to make sure that your reading is given to you by an expert.
  • Ask the clairvoyant how long they have been in business and for how long they known about and developed their powers. Try to choose someone who has been practising for a few years.
  • Ask if they can provide you with some real testimonials or recommendations from previous clients. Be careful about testimonials provided on websites as these could be written by just about anyone!
  • It is a good idea to ask if you can visit the clairvoyant and talk to them before you actually go ahead with a reading to make sure that you feel confident with them and comfortable with the setting. This is more difficult if you are getting the reading over the phone or online but you should still try to have some communication with them before you have the reading.
  • Some clairvoyants may come to your house to give the reading. If you would prefer this, find out if this is a service they provide but do be very careful about who you are inviting into your house and try to have a friend in the house as well, just in case.
  • A good clairvoyant should be able to provide you with details of what they see. Whilst this will vary considerably from one clairvoyant to another, many will be able to describe to you what someone from the spirit world is wearing or what they look like. So, do try to get as much information as possible from your clairvoyant to assure yourself as to their authenticity.
  • Find out if the clairvoyant can provide assurance that any information about you will be kept confidential. Although the BCA has a code of ethics, clairvoyants are not bound by professional codes of conduct and confidentiality in the same way as your doctor.
  • Although cost should be a relatively minor consideration, do ask what the reading will cost and then compare costs for a few different clairvoyants so that you are confident that you are not going to be charged over the odds for your reading. Find out if the cost is per reading, regardless of how long it takes or if the cost is for a certain length of time as you might be charged more if your reading runs over that time. However, do balance cost against experience, personal recommendation and the types of reading they provide as the cheapest clairvoyant may not necessarily be the best one for you.
It is important to be very careful as to whom you choose to do your reading as the information they provide could have a major influence on your future and the way in which you feel about yourself and others.
