• Placing Adverts

  How much does it cost to place a Classified Advert?

  There is no charge to place a Basic Advert. However, if you would like your advert to stand out and increase its exposure we have a number of upgrades you can purchase for your advert.

  How do I place an advert?

  Start by deciding which category to place your advert in. After you do so you will then be able to enter your advert details. If you have not used Classifieds.co.uk before you'll also be asked for your personal details.

  How many adverts can I list?

  You may place as many adverts for different items as you wish, but you cannot list the same item multiple times.

  How long will my advert run for?

  All Adverts run for 60 days with the option to renew your advert in the week before it is set to expire.

  Why isn't the 'Place a Classified Advert' button working?

  The 'Place a Classified Advert' process uses cookies to work, so you will need to ensure that you have cookies enabled in your browser.

  Why can't I log in?

  If you are experiencing problems logging in first verify that you are using the correct password. You can do this from the Lost Password page. Secondly, ensure that you have cookies enabled in your browser.

• Managing Your Advert

  How can I add a picture?

  You can add up to ten pictures to a Basic Advert. Go to My Classifieds and find the advert you want to edit in the list. Next to the item, click the Edit link and follow the on-screen instructions. Your adverts will show up in My Classifieds approximately 20 minutes after you place them.

  How can I change a picture?

  You can change a picture by first removing the picture you want to replace and then adding a new one. Go to My Classifieds and find the advert you want to edit in the list. Next to the item there is an Edit tab, click on this, and then click the Add/Remove Pictures tab.

  How do I change the price of something I'm advertising?

  You can change the price or any other part of an advert at any time. Go to My Classifieds and find the item you want to edit in the list then click the Edit link next to the item.

  I've sold my item! How do I remove my advert?

  Removing an advert is easy. Go to My Classifieds and find the advert you want to remove in the list then click the Withdraw link and your advert will be withdrawn.

  Why does my ad display the wrong phone number?

  We do not display your private telephone number on your advert. Instead, we replace it with a privacy number which connects buyers direct to you. There is no charge to you for this service.

• Managing Your Details

  How can I update my email address/phone number?

  You can update any of your personal details, including your email address and phone number, from the Profile page. Any changes made here take immediate effect, but email address changes will require confirmation.

  I've forgotten my password, what should I do?

  If you've forgotten your password we can send it to you by email. Visit the Lost Password page and enter the email address you used when you signed up. The password will be sent to this address. If you no longer have access to the email address you signed up with, you will have to create a new account with your current email address.

  Why hasn't my password reminder arrived?

  If you've asked to be reminded of your password but the email hasn't arrived, it's likely that the email may have been stopped by a junk mail filter. As the reminder email is automatically generated, some email software may mistake it for junk mail and move it to a Junk or Trash folder. If you have a Junk or Trash folder, check there for the password reminder.

  How can I change my password?

  If you wish to change your password you can do so at any time. Log in to My Classifieds and visit your Profile page, where your password can be changed.

• Managing Responses

  How do buyers contact me?

  There are two different ways that buyers can contact you; by email or by phone. Classifieds.co.uk does not give out your email address or phone number, but a buyer can use the site to send an email to you or dial the privacy number on your advert to be put through to your phone automatically. These facilities are free of charge and cease to work once your advert has expired or has been withdrawn.

  Why have messages been removed from my inbox?

  Occasionally, having received an email notifying you of new messages in your My Classifieds inbox, you may log in to find that the messages have been removed. This happens when we find scam emails or abusive messages that get removed by our moderation team.
