Some pricing may be per event or by the hour. There is unusual children's entertainment such as circus skills acts or even circus skill training available. For a wide range of entertainment there are many holiday centres and theme parks which offer a variety of activities; it might be less costly in some instances or combine a family holiday with children's entertainment. However there are an increasing number of children's entertainers around today and the services offered are varied with many themes. They can often be found face painting, setting up bouncy castles and leading tours of unusual reptiles at local fetes and fairs, which is a good way of finding an entertainer for your child's party.

Of course if you want to buy a product rather than a service, there are also lots of face painting kits, magic tricks and comic films for children. Magic kits are increasingly popular amongst children now and there is a huge variety available to purchase. They are inspired by the magicians seen on television, so there are street and card tricks, and more elaborate magic tricks including the 'glass of milk trick'. There are also complimentary props such as cloaks and wands, and much Harry Potter memorabilia that also includes posters, sweets, toys and spells as well as tricks and props. You can expect to pay anything from a few pounds to around fifty pounds for top quality large magic sets or face paints. However the products tend to cost far less than the service. Second hand products cost even less, although many of these are not practical to sell on. Face paints for example should not be bought second hand unless an unwanted, unused gift.

Buying Comedy
There are lots of entertainment services for adult parties and functions as well as children's. There are services available for corporate functions as well as other occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. Corporate entertainment will probably include the management of an entire event and include food, beverage, music and entertainers such as magicians. They will also cater for themed events and decorate the event location. Similarly, for parties where guests are friends rather than business associates, a similar level of management is usually offered. These events are expensive, some costing thousands of pounds, and are usually designed for special occasions. However similar entertainment for adults is also organised on children's holidays within family packages, therefore on holiday one can enjoy a similar experience to a private party or corporate event.

You can also hire stand up comedians for business or private events, and there are a range to choose from. The more famous the comedian the more expensive they are. You should check their act before booking to see if it is suitable for your guests and certainly check out local acts as they are usually less expensive if travel costs are cut down.

Of course if you are after a product rather than a service, an evening in with comedy products is always enjoyable. You can buy a whole range of DVDs featuring top comedians starring in their shows or participating in live stand up. Comedians such as Jo Brand, Ricky Gervais and Lenny Henry have all starred in various comedies. You can get yourself a great bargain if you buy these DVDs or other comedy memorabilia such as jewellery and key rings second hand, as these are less costly than brand new comedy items.

Buying Seasonal Music
Seasonal music usually refers to music used during particular holidays. Most seasonal music is Christmas music and quite a collection has amassed over the years. This music is ideal for Christmas parties or fun seasonal gifts. Some Christmas music is novelty music, but there are also some other types of musical recordings such as classical recordings of hymns so you can choose which style of music suits you. Christmas CDs are normally priced at around the same amount as other music CDs but you can grab a bargain if you buy second hand as they are so much cheaper. There is also a lot of children's seasonal music to buy which can liven up children's Christmas parties or just entertain younger children. These are also a lot cheaper if bought second hand.

This kids, comedy and seasonal guide should have demonstrated that services in this industry are more expensive than products; but they are perfect for special occasions and can ensure a really memorable, wonderful event. If you do decide to use hired entertainment you can ensure it really is a special event by looking at a few potential companies, and finding out exactly what services are provided, a run through of a show (if there is one) and looking at recommendations and reviews from others. However if you buy entertainment products for kids or adults it is a good idea to look at online deals and second hand sellers of DVDs and CDs. You can get value for money on products which cost a lot less second hand, whereas you can expect quality when hiring a service
