Kissograms are a popular way of making any kind of celebration go with a bang! Entertainers can be hired to put on any kind of performance from a risqu� stripogram through to a performer dressed up in a gorilla suit to brighten up a children's party. You can even hire a kissogram to play a trick on your boss during office hours if you like (which could brighten up your working day a bit!) But, let's face it, we don't have to hire kissograms all that often so it can be hard to know which company or individual to use. So, how do you choose the right kissogram?

Finding a kissogram that might suit you
The first job you have here is to find a kissogram who will give you the kind of performance that you want. So, you will need to know more or less what kind of kissogram you need (more on that later!) before you start your search. Bear in mind that kissograms and kissogram agencies may work on a general basis or they may have specialist expertise.

For example, some agencies may only provide more 'adult' performances such as Chippendale style male strippers or sexy stripograms whilst others may offer a full range of general kissogram types also. Nowadays a lot of kissogram agencies have started to offer a full entertainment hire service so may also be able to put you in touch with children's entertainers, comperes, comedians, hypnotists, singers and bands. Some will even hire out limos as a side-line!

Many people use word of mouth recommendations to find a reliable kissogram or you may have already spotted one at a night club, pub or disco. If you don't know anyone who has used this kind of service before then your best bet is to look in a directory, either online or in Yellow Pages, for example. This should give you a list of kissograms that work in your area that you can check out.

Getting the right kissogram
Choosing a kissogram service is also all about making sure that you hire the right kind of show. After all, the kind of kissogram you want for your mate's hen or stag night is going to be a lot different to the one that you might hire for your Gran's 90th birthday. Or, then again, maybe it won't!

You'll also need to give a thought to the venue where you want the kissogram to appear. Some services will only give performances in public places such as pubs, clubs and discos. Others won't mind coming to a house if the party in question will be at home. Bear in mind, if you are ordering a female kissogram for a home visit, that she may come with a minder for protection and, if you are using a public venue, it's wise to check that the manager doesn't mind first before you book the service. Some venues don't like having kissograms on site.

Talk to a few services to see what they can offer you. Ask them how much they charge for the service, how long it lasts and what it involves. Bear in mind that some may charge extra if they need to hire extra costumes or accessories to give you the performance you need.

Costs will vary widely here depending on how complex your performance needs are and how many kissograms you'll actually need to use. So, for example, hiring a kissogram service to give you a quick five minute stripping Policewoman performance at a stag night will cost a lot less than hiring the equivalent of the Chippendales for a hen night, or a hypnotist for a two hour show on a work's night out.

Some services may ask for a deposit upfront before your booking is confirmed (with payment to be completed once the performance is done). Some kissogram services, however, may not ask for money up front. It's probably not wise to pay the whole fee in advance unless you know that the kissogram and/or company is 100% reliable. You don't want to pay for someone who just doesn't bother turning up and does a runner with your cash!

Do try to check out references for the kissogram or agency before you agree to hire them, especially if you've never heard of them before or seen them for yourself. Any reputable kissogram or specialist agency will be more than happy to show you testimonials or to put you in touch with some satisfied customers. This way you can get a feel for whether people are generally happy with the kissogram as a whole, if they would use them again then they are probably OK to use for your event.
